Terms & Conditions

These are Bude Glamping and Camping terms and conditions of booking.
By paying a deposit or full payment you accept the following:

Membership to the Greener Camping Club and why?

In order to comply with countryside planning policy, we operate as a Greener Camping Club members-only campsite. The Club was established by people with a passion for sustainable, eco-friendly camping holidays. When you book your holiday with us, you will be enrolled as a member of the Club. Membership costs just £12 for the calendar year and gives you access to some of the greenest campsites in the UK. It also includes participation in the Club’s ‘Trees for Life’ scheme, whereby a tree is planted for every member we enrol.
Please note: Membership runs from the 1st of January to the end of December each calendar year. This is non-refundable in the event of cancellation for any cause what so ever.

Payments

We request a 25% conditionally refundable deposit when booking your holiday. Confirmed receipt of the deposit and a completed reservation form secures your booking. Please note that the deposit includes full payment (£12) for your Greener Camping Club membership. Reservations are held for up to three days provisionally, after which if we have not received your deposit, the dates will be released. Please note The balance is requested 6 weeks prior to your arrival date (an email reminder will be sent). For short lead-time bookings -ie. those booked less than 6 weeks before arrival, the full amount will be requested to secure the booking.

Cancellation by you

If you cancel your holiday 6 weeks or more before your arrival date, we will refund your deposit less a £40 admin fee which includes the £10 Greener Camping Club membership fee (which is not refundable). If you cancel your holiday 6 weeks or less before your arrival date and we are able to re-let your dates, we will refund your deposit and balance less a £40 admin fee. In the event that we are unable re-let your dates, no refund will be made. Bookings are not transferable to another family without our prior agreement in writing. If you are worried about the prospect of cancellation please take out holiday insurance.

Cancellation by us

Bude Glamping and Camping reserves the right to cancel your holiday at short notice if we are unable to provide safe accommodation or camping environment, due to extreme weather conditions, ill health, fire, flooding or any other extenuating circumstances beyond our control. Under such circumstances, your full payment (less the £10 Greener Camping Club membership fee) will be returned to you. Bude Glamping and Camping cannot accept liability or responsibility for any loss, including consequential loss, caused by cancellation.

Cancellation in the event of Covid-19 Infection

What happens if you have to cancel your booking for any of the following reasons:

  • You or a member of your party have a positive Covid-19 test

  • You or a member of your party have to self-isolate due to contact with a Covid-19 sufferer

  • You or a member of your party develop Covid-19 symptoms and are awaiting test results

  • Your area is put into a localised lockdown - that means you will be breaking the law if you travel.

If any of the above apply we will do our best to offer you alternative dates for your holiday. If that is not possible then the ‘Cancellation by You’ clause will apply.

Children & Adults Safety

There are many opportunities for play and adventure at Bude Glamping and Camping. Our aim is for children to have a truly enriching experience of space and freedom. But there are contingent risks to be aware of. We permit campfires, the Shepherds hut has a wood burning stove,  we have sheep, chickens and a working dog, we are a working farm so there are often tractors around. These risks are small and should be self-evident - but if you are not clear, please ask! Bude Glamping and Camping accepts no responsibility for injury incurred on site. Parents are responsible for the supervision of their children on site at all times.

Arrival and Departure times.

Arrival time is between 3pm and 9pm. Please call us if you think you may arrive later so that we can make suitable arrangements.

On departure day, please vacate your camping pitch by 11am or Shepherds hut by 10:00am.

Consideration for Others
This is a peaceful, quiet campsite for the enjoyment of nature. We do not allow generators, amplified music that can be heard off anybody’s pitch. Noisy visitors who persistently disturb other guests will be asked politely to leave, without refund. If you are out for the night and arrive back late, please consider other campers.

Day Visitors
Are only permitted by prior agreement. Fees may apply.

Recycling & Rubbish
A condition of camping here is that you separate glass, cans, plastic, paper, cardboard etc. placing them in the special bins provided. What is left, ie. anything that is not recyclable can be placed in the landfill bin.

Property loss
Bude Glamping and Camping cannot be held responsible for any lost or stolen property.

Smokers
The shepherds hut is strictly NO SMOKING. If you smoke, do it outside and dispose of your cigarette ends in the campfire or bin. Thanks.

Campfires & firewood

Please only use the designated campfire places and do not enlarge or alter the position of the designated campfire places. Do not leave your campfire unattended and think carefully about whether or not to light a fire if it is windy. Bude Glamping and Camping accepts no liability for injury or damage caused by your campfire. By lighting it you accept full responsibility for it

Dog policy

Sorry as a working farm we are unable to accept any dogs other than guide dogs with a registered blind person.

Chemical toilet disposal
If you bring a portable toilet and wish to dispose of the contents in our disposal point (CDP), please ensure that the chemical used does not contain formaldehyde, chlorine, bleach or any other corrosive/toxic chemical (blue chemicals). We can supply (at cost) a green chemical that is 100% biodegradable and septic tank friendly

Additional Terms & Conditions specific to the Shepherds hut

Accidental damages

Should any significant damage or breakage occur, other than acceptable wear and tear, a charge for replacement may be made. Guests will be held responsible for any fire, smoke or general damage caused by negligence.

Safe and Efficient Use Of The Hot Tub

• Never leave children unattended in or around the tub. The tub contains deep water – this is a drowning risk!

• The chimney becomes very hot as does the door face of the stove – be very careful when placing logs in the stove.

• Do not empty the water from the tub. Maintain water level (Between the top outlet and the top of the tub)

• Never sit up around the outside edge of the hot tub, this is a falling risk.

• Do not use bubble bath or products in the hot tub.

• Do not use if pregnant or if you have any heart problems.

• Do not stay in for longer than 20 minutes-take a break after this time.

• Avoid the consumption of alcohol and drink plenty of water.

• The optimum temperature for use is 38C, bathing above this temperature is not advised.

• Always replace the lids after use and make sure they are secure.

Using the wood fired hot tub is entirely at your own risk and Bude Glamping and Camping cannot accept any liability for any injury or loss and you will be liable for any damage caused.
